Rockin’ Repair
It was a nice, warm Wednesday evening when fixers gathered to help repair the broken, tattered, and rusted. We collected 30 tickets. 25 items were fixed, 4 items were not repairable, and 1 was in the progress of getting repaired.
The event was sponsored by Marion County Environmental Services, and the space was donated by Willamette Heritage Center. We had 20 volunteers and we couldn’t have done so much work without their help.
Dana Canning from the Salem Sleeping Bag Project was also there to show us how we can help crochet, sew, or cut to help make sleeping bags and sleeping mats for the homeless.
We also had KOIN 6 come down to shoot a segment about repair. Check out some photos from the event.
