Trashion Contest
DIY Studio is thrilled to provide an opportunity for ages 12 to adult to use their design skills to create and exhibit a recycled/reused garment created from items that would otherwise be thrown in the trash. Many thanks to Straub Environmental Center for sponsoring this event and the support of Studio Sub Dio and Fox Blue.
Entry forms are due by 3 p.m. PST February 1, 2014. A team of judges will evaluate the entries, and the top 10 entries will be asked to model their garment in the Trashion Show at the 2014 Mid-Valley Green Awards on March 1, 2014.
Classes & Workshops
DIY Studio, Salem Arts Building, 155 Liberty NE, Suite 140 (behind Subway). Classes and Workshops are not mandatory, however they will provide inspiration, teach techniques, and are a value tool to use for this contest. Classes include:
Discovering Trashion Class January 8, 6:30-8:30pm, Free
Trashion Lab I, January 18, 1-3pm, $3
Basic Construction Class February 1, 1-3pm, $3
Trashion Lab II, February 8, 1-3pm, $3

Read through the Trashion Guidelines and Application. All applications must be submitted by Feburary 1, 2014. A team of judges will evaluate the entries, and the top 10 entries will be asked to model their garment in the Trashion Show at the 2014 Mid-Valley Green Awards.
