Upcycled Treasures
My super talented friend Sarah White and I are planning on hosting a show this fall full of upcycled treasures. For those of you who don’t know what upcycled means…it’s simply taking discarded items, spiffing them up, and giving them a new purpose. And instead of reusing, upcycled items are repurposed to last for generations.
So Sarah and I have had lots of fun junking together. We’ve found so many inspiring things, I’m excited to roll up my sleeves and get to work.
One of the projects I’ve tackled is this pet bed. It’s 90% upcycled and only the bed stuffing is new. The bed cushion is adorn with vintage fabrics, trims and lace. And the actual bed is made from an old suit case that has been relined with vintage music. The lime green legs are actually old chair spindles.
Let me introduce you to this little cutey. “Keepsake Cutey” boasts attitude and style. Sporting a tin crown and a lace scarf, this little lady stores your keepsakes in her stainless steal teapot. She’s a clever little smarty pants and I just adore her!
