Fabulous Felting

Don’t you just love field trips? I sure do. There’s nothing like visiting a new place for the first time. Wendy joined me on an adventure to Eugene Textile Center this week. We heard about this amazing place from an artist at the studio. Our expectations were high and this creative center surpassed them! We were greeted by a very helpful and friendly clerk as well as the resident cat (oh I wish DIY could have a furry friend at the studio). I soon added mounds of merino wool to my basket making sure to include every color of the rainbow. I loved buying it by the ounce so it didn’t break the bank. Driving home, I was giddy to start felting.

That night I got to work.  I made a monster, a toadstool and I also introduced the kids to Little Shop of Horrors so of course, we needed to create Audrey II. We also created a cat/mouse. You should let us know which you think it is. We aren’t sure which just yet.

The great thing about creating with wool is that it is a renewable resource and Eugene Textile has so many colors, it’s a feast for the eyes. Visit them online or in person
Monday – Saturday, 10AM to 5:30PM.
