Big News, Solo Art Show

Contemplation, Oil Painting by Jessica Ramey

You know that feeling of butterflies in your stomach on the first day of school? Remember all the questions racing through your mind?
Question 1: Do I know enough?
Question 2: Who will I hang out with?
Question 3: Will they like me?
And the most important question…
Question 4: What will I wear?

Yeah, I’ve got a bad case of the back-to-school jitters! But I’m not going back-to-school. Instead I’m gearing up for my first ever solo art show…(err actually the first time I’ll be showing off my paintings!). Many thanks to the Art Department for giving me a chance to show off my work.

I’d love for you to come, solve question number 2 for me, and soothe my nerves a bit. Note, I won’t force you to hold my hand (err actually I’m not really that big on hand holding so you are safe!).

So here are the details my friend:

May First Wednesday — Solo Art Show and Reception

Wednesday, May 2 at 5 PM – 8 PM
Art Department, Inc. | 254 Commercial St NE, Salem, Oregon 97301

Join the Art Department on First Wednesday to kick off a solo art show featuring oil paintings by Jessica Ramey. Jessica will also share her Top 10 list of art supplies that she loves. See if your favorites made the list.

Jessica is lifelong artist creating paintings, animations, sketches, graphics and upcycled art. Currently Jessica focuses on exploring with sketching and oil paint. She’s intrigued with private, quiet moments of the human form… snapshots of them in their raw and somewhat complicated state. She’s excited to see how these moments can be interpreted to the viewer and what emotions they evoke. Jessica also enjoys exercising her skills to capture city scenes both from the places she has visited and her hometown.

You can view the facebook invite here. Now I’m off to figure out the answer to Question number 4. It’s never too early to plan a good outfit!
