Upcycled Valentine Bottle Vases
Valentines day is coming soon and now is a great time to show your friends and family that you care. But don’t feel like you have to buy something new to express how you feel. Instead try crafting up some upcycled bottle vases. With a little bit of twine, some flowers, a hot glue gun and some bottles, you’ll make a charming bouquet and vase to hang on the door of the ones you love.
Start off by using any old bottles you have. I liked these soda bottles because I like the classic vintage Coke a cola look as well as the crush bottles which feel oh so valentines-ie. Andy bottles and jars would work, so clean out your cupboards and recycling bins for inspiration.
Simply glue some twine in place and wrap the twine around the bottle lip. Secure with extra glue so that there is a loop of twine at the top of your bottle (almost making a basket handle of sorts). This handle makes it easy to hang the bottle on door handles for a sneaky drop and dash. This project would also work well for May Day.
Then simply fill with greenery or flowers you have from your yard or purchased from a local florist. It’s simply and it’s affordable but most of all, it is crafted from the heart.
such a great idea! i need to buy a hot glue gun, though…
Susan, you could use a really strong glue like E-600, however mini glue guns are super affordable now and it’s perfect for someone like me who is too impatient to spend the time to let projects dry over night. π Thanks for stopping by Susan!
What a cute idea to sneak flowers to the neighbors, I might have to do this, thank you for the idea! π
Thanks for the comment Janelle! I can’t wait to see how your seed bombs turned out!
