Saint Patrick’s Day Crafts and Preschool St. Patty’s Party and a Bad Momma

“Hurry up so you won’t be late for school”, I tell my kiddos as they hop out of the car. I watch my 5 and 8 year olds rush down the sidewalk toward the school. Great, I’ll still have plenty of time to get everything in place before the preschoolers come to the studio.

Back at home I sit down to check my computer for emails and I’m stopped short because the ringing phone. It’s my son’s Kindergarten teacher who sweetly informs me that my son is doing okay, but it’s not a school day for Kindergartners. Goodness sakes! What a bad momma I am! Back in the car I go to retrieve my son. I make it home again with seconds to spare. Fix some snacks for my little man and send him off to the basement with a Leapfrog movie. Thank goodness I did all the cutting, cleaning and printing of instructions last night. For I’m expecting 30 preschooler families to visit the studio for a field trip. Duh, dah, dah… cue the dramatic music.

And they arrive with wet shoes and raincoats. Parents and kiddos pile in to the studio for a craftastic St. Patty’s party. It’s surely the biggest crowd I’ve ever had in the studio. Everyone is a wonderful guest. We read a story about leprechauns and then go to work making four different crafts. The parents are so helpful and the experienced teachers happily assist. The children are busy, twisting, gluing, cutting and coloring to create their green treasures.

Looking back it was a whirlwind wonderful party and I’m thankful that the preschoolers were able to come.  Little man, enjoyed his movie and I even had help from the teachers to clean up the studio!

So I want to extend my luck of the Irish to you today…free printables for you to create at your home with your little leprechauns. Hope you have a wonderful holiday!
