Make it Monday-Collage Crazy and free classes!
Don’t let your lack of cash get you down when it comes to decorating. By using a few things around the house, you too can have creative art that matches your decor and shows off your personal style. And the best part is that you can do it for only a few pennies.
I started with my inspiration piece. I love my new shower curtain (right) but when I changed it out, my old art (which had red tones) didn’t match. It was time for a creative solution. I only used four things in this collage… a block of wood, glue, paper (from a phone book and discarded algebra book) and paint. And look how cool these wooden block collages turned out.
Collage and assemblage may seem a bit scary for those first timers. But by following a few basic design rules, you can come up with something quite spectacular. Don’t believe me? Still a skeptic? Join me for my FREE class at Clockworks! I’ll help break down the process of collage into easy to follow steps.
The class I’m teaching Storytelling through Assemblage Art will be July 20th 6:00pm – 8:00 pm at Clockworks. Here’s a little description…Experience the journey of creating art with everyday found objects. We’ll explore the basic process of collage. Impromptu themes along with step-by-step instruction will guided you through the creative process. You’ll leave with a completed assemblage art block and a story to share. Please bring your scissors. All other materials will be supplied.
If collage isn’t your bag, then look here for their list of FREE classes this summer (pdf). From DJing to vegan cooking, you’ll be sure to find something that suits your tastes. I’d love to see you at my class so mark your calendars now!
