DIY Strategy and Sharing the Load
“Movin’ right along.
Footloose and fancy-free.
Getting there is half the fun; come share it with me.
Moving right along (doog-a-doon doog-a-doon).
We’ll learn to share the load.
We don’t need a map to keep this show on the road.”
So last week DIY Studio received some pretty sad news. One of our grants we were hoping to apply for (actually our very favorite, most promising, and prized grant) was discontinued due to budget cuts. We moped, threw our arms up in the air, got all grumpy cat, and now have come to the realization that we’ll keep movin’ right along. We quickly set a strategy meeting and 10 of our supporters joined us at the planning table to brainstorm other fundraising options. Because of our fabulous supporters we now have a road map of what we need to tackle.
If you too would like to help, please visit our volunteer page. There you will find a quick volunteer questionnaire as well as a list of opportunities for you and ways you can help support the creative reuse movement. Sing with me now:
“Movin’ right along.
We’re truly birds of a feather,
We’re in this together and we know where we’re going…”
Hang in there ladies. You know what they say about one door and another door…Well, those hallways can be a bitch but you will make it. I can advertise for you and have been spreading the word when I can. Let me know if there is anything I can do.
We are fighters to the end Sandra. Thanks for your words of encouragement!
You are very welcome. Did you get the message about the old Big Lots? What can we do about funds…I make a mean spaghetti!! I just got out of my second cooking class at the MPFS and it was a big hit again. I have to brag a little now don’t I? Here is a plethora of ideas. I have some time from Thursday through Saturday to brainstorm if you ever want to just spend some time with one of your biggest advocates. There’s got to be a good reason for reaching 58!! Sandi
