Movable Art Jewelry

I’ve been busy making some of my movable jewelry.  Lately I’ve had lots of ideas in my head and finally have the time to try them out. Let me know what you think!

The first item I’ve been thinking about is a home shaped pin.  I like the concept of something looking different inside from the outside and I wanted some doors that opened.  I used little brass hinges. Next time I’d LOVE to use little silver ones instead but finding them may be a little tricky. Anyone out there know of a good source for hinges that you can connect with solder? Hmmm….

The next little necklace is just so sweet! It’s hard to see with this video since I’m just using a camera for the pictures and not a camcorder. You can see how small the scale is better in the picture below. This piece doesn’t move, however both sides are encased with glass so you really get a fishbowl perspective of this couple on the bench. It reminds me of those butterfly meetings as a teen who finally got the nerve to say hello to the boy I liked. Maybe I should make a series of this couple…sitting closer next time on the bench? These cute little people do seem so very right for each other.

With this next little necklace I added some silver little swallows with one that you can make swoop through the air. The text reads “soar”.
