A Touching Story with a Motto to Live By

This is truly an amazing book! My mom introduced me to this book while we were living in Maine. So many of the illustrations remind me of Maine and that’s what drew me into the book as a child. The story is equally touching. The story takes you through the life of a child who becomes a women who’s goal is to make the world more beautiful. Miss Rumphius’s challenge is now mine and I often think about this touching book. It’s so darn easy to get bogged down in the drama and petty things in this world and loose sight of what’s important. And then I am reminded of this book and smile.
