Make it Monday-Collage Using Basic Design
Tomorrow I’m teaching my first instructional class at Clockworks/C4. Hope you can join me! You don’t have be an expert in drawing or even consider yourself an artist to collage but you will need to have a sense of adventure. But don’t fear, I will guide you step-by-step in the process. Also did I mention the class is FREE? You’ll be able to use my papers, paints and 3D elements from my personal stash, get a booklet with inspirational tidbits, tips and tricks and you’ll leave with a completed collage block. Awesome right?
This is a drop in class so no registration is required!
Storytelling through Assemblage Art Class
July 20th 6:00pm – 8:00 pm
Clockworks Cafe
241 Commercial St NE, Salem OR
Free, just bring scissors!
My hope for this class is to inspire teens and adults to start making art. Have you ever watched a 5 year old create art? Usually children jump right in, while adults question their abilities. Somewhere through our years of experience we learn to doubt our artistic talent and become jaded as to what being an artist entails. Adults miss out on playing with gooey paint, dreaming up fictional worlds and telling stories through art. This doesn’t have to be the case. With the right knowledge of design principles, art can be an accessible method of expression for all. That is my hope for you!
Here’s a few examples of some collages made by an adult woman, child, and man after a couple hours of instruction. They all look so different yet I love how each turned out. I hope you can join me for the fun!
